Breakfast Items for Kids
1. Potato & Cheese Sandwich
This is an easy kids' tiffin box recipe and takes no time to prepare. You should have only boiled potatoes ready in the refrigerator to speed up the process. Here we don't need to saute potatoes with spices and cook.

2. Bread Roll
This is another bread-snacking item. Here, the stuffed breads are deep-fried and served with tomato ketchup. I have used potatoes for stuffing. But you can also stuff crumbled paneer and other veggies into it.

3. Spinach Corn Sandwich
Another bread sandwich recipe, but this is way healthier and tastier as a kids' tiffin box option. A perfect combination of spinach leaves and corn kernels. Super easy, creamy, and healthy for our kids.

4. Bread Pizza Sandwich
This is one of the quickest sandwich recipes for a kids' tiffin box. A pizza sandwich is made primarily of two ingredients. You can add veggies and paneer or tofu to the sandwich.

5. Whole wheat flour crepes
These are the healthiest crepes for toddlers and kids. This is super easy to make, and it's also filling, keeping the baby full for longer. And this doesn't need any preparation. This is an instant crepe.

6. Besan ka Chilla
Besan ka chilla or tomato omelette is another easy tiffin box recipe. This is made instantly. Just add tomato and onion for flavoring.

7. Tater tots
Tater tots are best for toddlers and pre-primary kids. These are the finger foods that your kid would love. Especially in pre-primary, kids usually have less than 2 hours of schooling. So we can give them some finger foods that they can enjoy. Better than frozen potato bites.

8. Dosa with Chutney
Prepare the dosa batter the night before, and in the morning, make crepes and assemble the potato masala for stuffing. So quick and easy kids' tiffin box recipe.

9. Idli with Chutney
Make a batter the night before and steam the idlis for 10 minutes in the morning to make soft idlis. Pack them with some chutney and some dry fruits. Similarly, you can use semolina or ragi for idli batter.

10. Vegetable Maggi Masala
Maggi is always a kid's favorite food. I know moms are always concerned that this is not healthy food or that this is junk food. But relax, this isn't everyday food for your kid. He is not going to eat this twice every day. But of course, we can give them their favorite food occasionally. Well, to add nutrition to this, add lots of veggies to his/ her Maggi masala. Poha is a healthy breakfast option. This is made with flattened rice flakes. This is high in good carbs and fiber. Poha is easy to prepare and takes only 5-10 minutes. It keeps you full for longer.

12. Green peas poha
This is also similar to Kanda poha, but we add potatoes and green peas instead of peanuts for variation. This also tastes equally great.

13. Rava upma
Rava upma is a simple breakfast recipe in India. It takes hardly 2 minutes to prepare this healthy breakfast item. This is rich in fiber and protein. It keeps kids full for longer.

14. Mix vegetable upma
This is a variation of plain rava upma. You need to sautΓ© some vegetables to make this nutritious and healthy upma. Adding veggies to upma makes the upma even more delectable.

15. Vermicelli Upma
Similar to rava upma, this is made with vermicelli (semiya). The rest of the process would be identical to rava upma. But this will bring on a slight variation to the regular taste. And kids love variety. Add veggies also.

16. Vermicelli Pulao
It's similar to vermicelli upma, but the method of preparation is a little different. Here, aromatic spices are added to enhance the flavour. Add vegetables and paneer to make it healthier.

17. Paneer Cheese Sandwich
Quick and easy bread snack items for kids. Use crumbled paneer. Lightly spice it and spread it on the bread slice. Top it with a cheese slice or grated mozzarella.

18. Masala Toast Sandwich
Another easy sandwich recipe with sautΓ©ed potato mixture. Spread the sauce on bread slices and stuff them with spiced, sauteed potato slices. Grill or pan-fry on a griddle. Excellent for kids' tiffin box.

19. Onion Uttapam
Simple and easy if you have the batter ready. Takes 5 minutes to make 2 onion uttapam, which is quick enough for a kids' tiffin box recipe.

20. Masala Uttapam
Masala uttapam is equally simple if you have a potato mix and batter ready. Just spread the potato mixture on the uttapam. Masala uttapam is ready in 10 minutes. Just prepare the potato mixture the night before to speed up the process.

21. Sandwich Uttapam
This is similar to masala uttapam, but here you have to add an extra layer of batter to make a sandwich of potatoes. This is equally easy and quick if you have batter and masala (potato mixture) ready.

22. Bread Besan Toast
Bread besan toast is an easy, simple snack for kids and adults. In this recipe, bread is coated with spiced chickpea flour and pan-fried. Hence, it won't take more than 5 - 7 minutes to prepare a kid's tiffin box.

23. Ragi Idli
Ragi idli is a healthy tiffin box recipe for kids. The batter is made instantly. But to quicken, you can make the batter and store it in the refrigerator. In the morning, during busy hours, steam it for 10 minutes.

24. Moongdal Chilla
Another healthy breakfast item. This is made with moong dal. But here you need to soak the dal for 2 - 3 hours. So I would say make all the soaking and grinding part of the night itself.

25. Semolina Pancake
Another instant breakfast recipe for a kids' tiffin box. This is made with semolina (rava) and curd. You need to soak it for 10 - 15 minutes.

Lunch Items
Lunch items are for kids aged five and above. When kids cross pre-primary and primary, they are more mature and now well-trained to eat their own. Also, they have longer school time than pre-primary kids. Here, you can introduce the items they will enjoy in their tiffin box that are also healthy.

1. Mexican Rice
Mexican rice is an easy rice recipe and takes less than 30 minutes. This is a healthy tiffin box idea, in fact. It's loaded with the goodness of tomatoes and corn, basically. This is mildly spiced and excellent for kids.

2. Methi Matar Pulao
Methi is not a kid's favorite item. But when you spice it up with rice and peas, it's delicious. Try to reduce the bitterness of methi leaves to make it kid-friendly.

3. Soybean Pulao
Soya bean pulao is a quick rice recipe that takes just 5 minutes to make in the pressure cooker. What do we want more? Again, rich in protein, soya chunks will keep the kid full for longer.

4. Instant Biryani
This is another quick vegetable-loaded rice recipe for kids. It doesn't take more than 15 minutes if you have done all the preparation of chopping vegetables from the night.

5. Lemon Rice
This is the quickest rice recipe. Better if you have leftover rice. Just sautΓ© them with crunchy peanuts, then season with spices and lemon juice. Very different but delicious, and kids will enjoy this rice.

6. Aloo Paratha
Similarly, keep some boiled potatoes in the refrigerator overnight to speed up the process. This is a quick and straightforward recipe.

This is also a quick paratha recipe. Grate cauliflower and squeeze out as much water as possible in a muslin cloth. Now add salt and other spices to make stuffing.

8. Paneer Paratha
This Mughlai paratha is a kind of paneer paratha, with sauteed paneer (paneer burji) as the stuffing.

Same with Tawa pulao. Though these are easy and quick recipes, add spices according to your kid's age. Again, you can keep it simple with minimal use of spices.

11. Pav Bhaji
Buttery pav bhaji is best for occasional days. Bhaji is, in fact, made with lots of vegetables. But keep spices low for kids.

12. Mushroom Matar Pulao
Mushroom Matar Pulao is a mildly spiced rice recipe for kids' tiffin boxes. Pressure cook this in just 5 - 7 minutes. No preparation is required to make this rice.

13. Veg Fried Rice
Make rice and mix the vegetables well in advance. Then mix them and saute again to make veg fried rice quickly. Otherwise, you can make this fresh but that will take a little more time. Another way is vegetable tehri.

14. Vegetable Tehri
Vegetable tehri is a quick rice dish made in a pressure cooker and loaded with lots of vegetables. Takes only 5-10 minutes for the whole preparation.

15. Paratha & Sabzi/ Poori Sabzi

Another healthy kid's tiffin box idea is roti/ paratha/ poori and sabzi. Make any dry-sauteed vegetables and pack them with flatbreads. Another option is aloo kachori. That is also easy to make.
