    Vegetarian Keto Recipes

    Before starting the diet recipes, understand the basics of the keto diet. This is a kind of strict diet where you cannot go on and off with this diet. Otherwise, it may have some serious negative effects.

    In short, the keto diet includes high protein, high-fat foods, and eliminating carbs completely. So in this way, energy will be produced by breaking down the extra fats deposited in the body. The process is known as ketosis.

    Structure of keto diet intake -

    • Fat - 70%
    • Protein - 20%
    • Carb - 5%

    There are vegetables and fruits which are high in carbohydrate and hence needs to be avoided in the process. Try to avoid underground vegetables as they are rich in the carb.  The best pick for the keto diet is high in nutrition and low in carbs. To choose it's a bit easier as they are dark, leafy, and above-ground vegetables but again check the nutritional value before starting your diet.

    Vegetarian Keto

    The Keto diet is a high-fat diet that limits the carbohydrates to 5% of daily intake. It can be up to 20 - 50 gm a day. The lesser carb the more effective this diet is. Most of the protein and fat come from that of the meats, eggs, fish, dairy, etc. However vegetarian diet may include eggs in their diet whereas a vegan diet is completely plant-based and most eliminate eggs as well.

    Though it's effective and helps in weight loss, it calls for proper planning. The vegetarian keto diet requires a lot of planning to make sure there won't be any nutrition loss since this is a combination of two diets and eliminates most of the items (e.g cheese, dairy, eggs, meat, etc.) that are eaten on a normal keto diet.

    Consult your physician before starting any such diet. However, these recipes are best to add as sides or snacks in your regular keto diet too.

    If you are wondering what you can add to your vegetarian keto diet, here is a list for your reference.

    Healthy Fatolive oil, avocado oil, coconut oil, MCT oil
    Nutsalmonds, pistachio, cashews, walnuts, Brazil nuts
    Seedschia, hemp, pumpkin, flax seeds
    Nut Butterpeanut butter, almond butter, pecan butter, hazelnut butter
    Dairy full-fat milk, yogurt, cheese
    Proteintofu, tempeh, nutritional yeast, spirulina, eggs (non-vegan)

    Vegetarian Keto Recipes

    Add these vegetarian keto recipes to your diet especially if you are not a meat eater. Even if you are a meat eater, include these as a side or for snacking. Many of the keto recipes here are vegan too. So if you are not vegan, then add more cream and cheese to the recipes.

    Low carb Vegan Cauliflower Rice

    Cauliflower is low in carbs. This is one of the best vegetables to consume in the keto diet. You can eliminate the carrots here or reduce the quantity of it to balance the carb portion in your diet.
