    Before starting the diet recipes, let us understand the basics of the keto diet. This is also popular as a low-carb diet. This is a kind of strict diet that you cannot go on and off with. Otherwise, it may have some serious adverse effects.

    In short, the keto diet includes high protein, high-fat foods, and eliminating carbs. In this way, energy is produced by breaking down the extra fats deposited in the body, a process known as ketosis.

    • Protein - 20%
    • Carb - 5%

    Vegetables and fruits that are high in carbohydrates should be avoided.ย Underground vegetables are also rich in carbohydrates. The best pick for the keto diet is vegetables that are high in nutrition and low in carbohydrates. It's a bit easier to choose dark, leafy, and above-ground vegetables, but again, check the nutritional value before starting your diet.

    Vegetarian Keto

    The Keto diet is a high-fat, low-carb diet that limits carbohydrates to 5% of daily intake, up to 20 - 50 gm a day. The lesser the carbs, the more effective this diet is. Most of the protein and fat come from meats, eggs, fish, dairy, etc. However, vegetarians may include eggs, whereas vegans are completely plant-based and eliminate eggs as well.

    Though it's effective and helps weight loss, it requires proper planning. The vegetarian keto diet involves a lot of planning to ensure there won't be any nutrition loss since this combination of two diets eliminates most items (e.g., cheese, dairy, eggs, meat, etc.) eaten on a standard keto diet.

    Consult your physician before starting any such diet. However, these recipes are best to add as sides or snacks to your keto diet.
