    High Protein Breakfast Recipes (Vegetarian)

    14 High Protein Breakfasts

    Breakfast is an essential meal of the day. It helps keep the energy level high. One should never skip breakfast (other than intermittent fasting).

    Even if you are on a weight loss diet, you should not skip breakfast. This is the most required food by our body. As we don't eat the whole night, i.e., for more than 8 - 12 hours, we don't eat anything. This is equivalent to fasting.

    So, breakfast breaks the fast and provides our body with the required nutrition for the daily function of the system, i.e., body and mind.

    Vegetarian Sources of Protein

    While we should not skip our first meal of the day, we must include healthy food in our breakfast. Again, if you want to lose some pounds and trim your belly line, you must haveย protein-rich food in your diet.

    Vegetarian protein sources are limited to dairy products, lentils, legumes, and beans. So, you must plan your diet to include foods from this category.

    Some high protein foods you must include in your diet: dal or lentils, sprouts, chickpeas (white and black), milk, curd, paneer, tofu, soya bean, soya chunks, nuts, whole grains like oats, quinoa, daliya or cracked wheat, peanut butter, mushrooms, green beans, etc.

    Role of Protein In Weight Loss

    If you are looking for how protein helps in weight loss, below are a few points to explain:

    • It increases metabolismย and speeds up the effective loss of calories. Adequate protein helps burn more fat.
    • The more high-protein food you eat in breakfast, the less belly fat you will have. Because itย acts directly on belly fatย andย helpsย reduce it.
    • When on a weight-loss diet, we should eat more protein and fiber. Protein primarily helps build muscles, and the body loses muscle and fat during weight loss.
    • A lack of protein in the diet results in quick muscle loss. So, eating protein-rich food for a weight loss diet willย stop muscle mass loss by burning fatย and calories.
    • At the same time, it gives a feeling of satiety,ย keeping youย full for longer. Thus, itย reduces appetite andย stops the craving to overeat unnecessarily.
