Mango Iced Tea is a refreshing summer drink with the tangy flavor of lemon and sweetness of mangoes infused with tea.

I have added ginger to the tea for that extra punch. I love hot lemon ginger tea also. Ginger and lemon both are helpful in enhancing our immunity also.
Tea is one of the favorite and much common hot beverage in our country. Our morning starts with a cup of hot ginger tea (ginger milk tea). Normally the first tea I prefer is ginger milk tea. Ginger not only enhances the taste of the tea but also brings in numerous health benefits.
Black tea is always a better option than milk tea as it's less fatty and a vegan drink. And guess what! Green tea is the best option to have. But not as the first drink in the morning as it may be harmful in an empty stomach. Read the health benefits of green tea here.
I can have 6 - 8 cups of tea within 12 hrs. But I avoid it because it's not a very healthy habit. So I replace some with my lemon green tea which is much healthier and also adds to weight loss.
I buy regular green tea and add fresh lemon juice. However you will get much flavored green tea. I like 2 brands of them.
One is Tulsi Green Tea from Organic India
Second one is Desi Kahwa from Girnar
Which tea to use for iced tea recipes (Black Tea or Green Tea) ?
You can make black tea or green tea for this iced tea. Also you may brew tea or can use readily available tea bags for quick results. Here you may choose your favorite flavored tea ones.
Brewing Tea : Hot & Cold
You can make cold brewed tea in both ways, i.e. hot brew and cold brew.
Hot Brewing: If you are brewing tea hot, then just steep the loose tea leaves/ teabag for just a minute. Not more than that, as it may make the tea bitter and strong than necessary. Then cool it and refrigerate for a minimum of 2 - 4 hrs or till it's cold.
Cold Brewing: You can also use cold brewing to make an iced tea. Just brew then overnight in cold water and strain out after 8 - 10 hrs. Refrigerate and use when required.
Mango Iced Tea - Easy Summer Cooler
In hot Summer's the best substitute is iced tea where you are getting the flavor of tea that will refresh and cool our body and mind at the same time.
To bring in variation, add different fruit pulp to the iced tea and you will be amazed with delicious refreshing summer coolers. Adding a few mint leaves makes the drink even more pleasant.
To quicken the process, I make flavoured syrups and plain lemon iced tea. You can also refrigerate it for 3 - 4 days. Simple syrup or flavoured syrup can be stored for weeks also. Then whenever required mix flavoured syrup with iced tea and your favourite flavoured iced tea is ready in a minute.
How to make Mango Iced Tea From Scratch?
Here is the whole process in three steps.
1. Make Mango Flavoured Simple Syrup
Take equal amount of sugar and water. Bring it to a boil till sugar melts completely. No need to boil more for syrup.
Peel and chop fresh mango and blend the pulp into puree. Now mix the puree with sugar syrup and bring it to a boil for a minute for mango flavoured syrup.
Once done, cool it to room temperature and refrigerate for minimum 2 - 4 hrs upto a week or more.
2. Make brewed tea
Heat water in a pot on the stove. When it starts to boil, add 1/2 inch ginger finely grated to it and simmer for 2 minutes. Then add tea leaves or tea bags and steep for a minute. Now strain out using a tea strainer. (Ginger is optional)
If using green tea, then add tea after turning off the heat. Then wait for a minute before straining out.
Refrigerate black tea/ green tea for 5 - 6 hrs.
3. Cool, Combine, and Serve
Mix 1/4 part flavoured syrup* with 3/4 part of iced tea. Squeeze fresh lemon Juice. Add ice cubes and fresh mint leaves. Serve chilled.
*Depending on the type of mango you can change the amount of syrup adding to the iced tea.
