Watermelon Mojito (non-alcoholic) is one of the refreshing and cooling summer drinks. I love this watermelon drink. This is a must-try summer refresher everyone should try. It’s a true thirst quencher in hot summers.
Summer season is the hottest season of all six. During summers, days become longer and nights become shorter. Weather is humid with all-time high temperature outside.
The summer season is not a very loved period because of the heat and humid weather. Because of the high external temperature and humidity, our body starts to dehydrate quickly in the summers.
To beat the heat of summers, we all need to cool our bodies first. In this hot environment, we need to hydrate by consuming as much liquid as possible.
So we need to rehydrate our body with lots of fluid and fruit intake.
Benefits of Watermelon
We all know that this delicious watermelon is one of the juicy fruit that has 92% of it filled with water content. This is why it’s recommended for summers which will keep our body hydrated and works to balance the water loss due to excess heat and humid weather.
Even apart from this, this fruit is filled with numerous other health benefits as well. It’s high in vitamin C (21% of RDI), vitamin A (18%of RDI), potassium (5% of RDI), magnesium (4% of RDI), vitamin B1, B5, B6, and many other nutrients. Also, it has high carotenoid (beta-carotene & lycopene), & citrulline (an amino acid).

Watermelon is so much linked with this season and widely available in the market. This is one such fruit that contains more than 92% water in it. Also, this is widely available during the summer season. This is juicy and sweet. The fruit itself is one of the best summer treats.
Again when it’s combined with cooling mint and lemon, it makes awesome drinks to refresh. Though I don’t like mint, the mild taste of mint makes the drink more soothing and cooling.
How to Make Watermelon Mojito
This is super easy and you can make in 5 minutes. Just mix all ingredients in a pitcher and mix well. There is lots of room to add variation to this.
Make Simple Syrup
Mix water and sugar of equal quantity and bring it to a boil. Boil till sugar is dissolved. Cool it at room temperature. Make more in quantity and refrigerate if making in large batches.
Cut the watermelon out from the rind. In a juicer or mixer, put watermelon cubes and blend it to a smooth puree. Strain out pulp and seeds with the help of a strainer. Extract juice in a bowl.
Assemble to Make Mojito
In a pitcher roughly crush mint leaves with help of a muddler.
Next, add in watermelon juice and simple syrup. Squeeze out the lemon juice and mix well. Now add club soda and ice cubes.
Garnish & Serve – garnish with some more mint leaves. Serve chilled non-alcoholic mojito immediately.
To make such drinks quickly I always make simple syrup well in advance and refrigerate for further use. This saves a lot of time. When you make any juice or drinks, add the chilled simple syrup. You can also make flavored simple syrups as well.
