Chili cheese toast is a simple yet scrumptious snack that takes only a few minutes to prepare. It's yummy, cheesy toast with crunchy bites of veggies.
This chilli cheese toast is a quick snack loaded with veggies and lots of cheese. It is one of the energy-boosting cheesy and yummy recipes for your super energetic kid. This makes an excellent tiffin box recipe for kids as well.
Well, this cheesy snack may be considered junk food like pizza, but once in a while, you can treat yourself and your kid to this yummy cheesy bread snack. Again, the size of the bread used in this toast is much less than that used in pizza bases. These are lighter than the market pizza anyway.
But to make it healthier, use brown bread for toast or sandwiches. Brown breads or multigrain breads are always much better than regular white breads.
This quick snack will not take more than 15 minutes.
How to make chilli cheese toast?
Usually, Chilli Cheese Toast is made in two ways.
First method: Onions, garlic, and vegetables are sauteed before spreading on bread. Then, they are placed on bread slices with cheese toppings. Then, they are grilled to make toast.
Second method: I usually use this method. I mix vegetables with seasoning and spread them on bread slices with cheese toppings. Then, I grill these veggie-loaded slices into crispy toasts.
I have added capsicum, onion, and corn kernels only to my sandwich. You can also add red bell pepper, yellow bell pepper, and even paneer chunks to your toast.
Also, you can use mozzarella, cheddar cheese, or any processed cheese on your toast.
For a kids' tiffin box, you may add one slice on top of open toast and then grill this sandwich, applying a little butter on both sides. This chilli cheese toast sandwich would be more filling, too. In such a case, you can place one cheese slice in place of grated cheese.
