Instant pot broccoli is the perfect steamed broccoli recipe in a fraction of time without supervision. It comes out perfect every time. This is one of the best and nutritious sides you can add to your menu at any time.

    instant pot broccoli

I love this dark green cruciferous vegetable that is one of the healthiest vegetables on this planet. This belongs to the same family as cauliflower.

This is a versatile vegetable that you can use in any form. I love to add this to my soups, roasted broccoli, sauteed ones and the best is air-fried broccoli. You can also add them to your salad as raw broccoli salad, or roasted broccoli salad, or the steamed broccoli ones.

This is a zero-minute recipe you can make in the instant pot retaining the nice green color and crunch of the vegetable. Once to make this fail-proof steamed broccoli, you will love them.

The other ways to make steamed broccoli are using the microwave, and a steamer on the stovetop. But this instant pot broccoli is just too good and it's fail-proof too.

Why steamed broccoli in the instant pot is so good?

This is an easy and convenient way to make the steamed broccoli. No need to babysit and keep an eye on them. You just need to dump and set the timer to 0 minutes. That's all. But the steaming process may take up to 5 minutes before starting the pressure mode. And broccoli gets cooked in that heat and timing only.

You can use either fresh broccoli or frozen broccoli in the same way. And what you need for the whole thing is the steamer basket to put inside the inner pot.

    What ingredients you will need?

This instant pot broccoli is a simple steamed broccoli recipe. All you need is a head of broccoli, some water to add to the inner pot.

For seasoning, you can add salt and black pepper. If you want a garlicky flavor, you can rub some garlic powder as well.

How to make Instant Pot Broccoli?

Open the lid and place 1 cup of water in the inner pot. Now keep the trivet inside and place the steamer basket. Cut the broccoli head into bite-size pieces. You can also season them after steaming also.

Start the manual PRESSURE COOK mode, on LOW pressure and set the timer to ZERO (0) minutes. Move the vent in a sealing position. Once it beeps quick release all pressure and then remove the steamed broccoli from the inner pot.

To stop overcooking you can also place them in cold water for a minute. and season with salt and pepper after you remove the steamed broccoli from the water.

Now serve as sides with any of the meals.

    Serving Ideas -

Serve it simply seasoned with salt and black pepper. This goes as one of the best (healthy) sides as well.

If you are not comfortable with eating raw vegetables then you can replace this steamed broccoli with raw broccoli in the vegan broccoli salad.

To add more garlicky flavor, I add some sauteed onion and garlic over the broccoli to make my broccoli salad. (Detail mentioned in RECIPE CARD NOTES below.)

This is one of the healthiest snacks to add to a healthy lifestyle and eating habits.

These are also good to add when you are making broccoli tater tots or broccoli fritters. I often make them by steaming the broccoli.

    Notes

    Make Salad With Steamed Broccoli
In a skillet heat oil. Add minced garlic followed by sliced onions. Saute till look caramelized (brownish). Turn off heat and transfer the sauteed onion and garlic to the seasoned steamed broccoli.
I make the broccoli on LOW pressure since it never overcooks the broccoli. Overcooked broccoli looks dull and also turns pale in color. It also helps to retain a slight crunch in broccoli what makes it delicious. But if you like completely cooked ones, choose HIGH pressure while choosing manual pressure cooking mode.
