Quick, easy and 3 ingredients Banana Nutella Ice Cream is the perfect dessert in any season for any occasion.
Easy, quick, no-churn ice cream with just 2 main ingredients. 3rd is optional and can even be eliminated or substituted with any other toppings. In 2 steps, if I have to describe the banana nutella ice cream, it would be:
- Chop the banana into pieces & freeze in a ziplock pouch (preferably overnight).
- Remove from the freezer and blend it in a food processor (slow speed) with Nutella.
- Top it with chocolate chips or your favorite toppings.
And your banana Nutella ice cream is ready in minutes. You can serve it immediately or transfer it to a freezer box and freeze it for 2 - 4 hours.
Banana Nutella Ice Cream
But this Banana Nutella Ice Cream is one of my favorites now. And why not? I have all good reasons to love this ice cream or nice cream.
This Banana Nutella Ice cream is made with only 3 ingredients. And it took less than 10 minutes to prepare this ice cream or nice cream with frozen banana.
No churning machine or no other preparation. Perfect dessert with your perfect partner on Valentine's Day, a sweet love gift for your Mom & Dad on Mother's Day/ Father's Day. Or simply a dessert treat on any family get-together. The only requirement of planning is to freeze bananas well in advance.
Instructions to make banana nutella ice cream
Step 1:
Chop the ripe banana into 1 inch pieces. Place it in a fridge bag and keep it in the freezer for 30 - 40 minutes. Keep it max chilled in the freezer. Keep it in the freezer until it's frozen completely. (The time may vary depending on the cooling pattern.)
Step 2
After banana is entirely frozen and hard, remove these frozen banana and put them in a food processor or high speed blender.
Step 3
Start blending it. When it becomes smooth, add the Nutella and blend once more until both are mixed well. At this stage, add the chocolate chips and mix with a spoon.
Step 4
Transfer to an air-tight container. You can have this softie immediately or store it in the freezer.
Isn't it perfect? There is no churning, no machine, and no hard work. In only 10 minutes, a quick dessert is ready. For a better ice-like texture, you can freeze it for 4 - 6 hours.
Variations
This is made with two ingredients: banana and Nutella. The third one (chocolate chips) is optional, but it adds a nutty chocolate flavor and crunchy bites to soft ice cream. Nutella is the chocolaty hazelnut spread.
You can replace the choco chips with chopped dry fruits, raisins, or berries. Otherwise, keep it simple with only banana and Nutella. Add some coffee powder for a mocha-flavored ice cream.
These nice creams can be made with two consistency levels. One is a soft consistency, which you can eat immediately after blending. The second is firm, like regular ice cream. To be firm enough, you must keep it in the freezer for 2 hours.
Can I make this ice cream in a blender?
Food processors are best for this process, but you can still make this in a blender. A high-speed blender will do the same magic. If you are using a regular blender, you need to add 1/4 cup milk. Once you finish mixing everything, put it in the freezer for 2 hours to set.
Can I refreeze Banana Ice cream?
Yes, if it's not ready (medium icy texture) to eat just after blending, freeze this in an airtight freezer-safe box. Whenever you have to eat, thaw for a few minutes ( 3 - 5 minutes) before you serve.
What is a substitute for Nutella?
Nutella is one of the main ingredients in this ice cream. However, if you don't get Nutella, you can check for a similar nutty chocolate spread for this recipe. I would go for Hershey's Choco Spread. Peanut butter would also be a great substitute if you don't want a chocolaty flavor.
Does Nice cream or banana ice cream always taste like a banana?
Yes. Since bananas are the base of ice cream, they dominate the flavor in any banana-flavored ice cream. Even if you add fruit pulps, you will still get banana flavor in the final ice cream, which is not bad either, I think.
