Oatmeal Diet Plan is a rough idea of how I lost my weight. This is my personal experience, which I have shared here. The basis of a healthy life is a balanced diet along with physical exercise.

Oatmeal Diet Plan - My personal experience

Weight gain and weight loss are the primary areas of concern for many of us today. There are various reasons for weight gain. Starting from our unusual eating habits, unhealthy eating habits, sleeping patterns, peace of mind, or mental health, our complete lifestyle plays an essential role in weight gain and weight loss.

Hormones also play an essential role in our body weight. But the magic is our body weight is a necessary factor in maintaining hormonal balance. It's a cyclic process. So we can put effort into maintaining healthy body weight and BMI to live a healthy life.

Why is it difficult to start a weight-loss plan?

Procrastination & lack of willpower play an essential role in initiating a weight loss plan.

We tend to think, "Let's eat this today, I'll start from tomorrow". But remember, there is no tomorrow.  In such a scenario, what we need most is strong willpower. It's not easy to say "NO" to mouth-watering calorie-rich junk. You need that strong "NO" coming from within.

    Health is wealth

Getting into perfect shape is the secondary aim, but our main focus is good health. Continuously eating unhealthy foods will affect our body and mind. We will put on extra pounds, which will be stubborn over time and difficult to cut in the future.

When we gain more weight, we will face various diseases unnecessarily, spending more time on illness and stress, and that will even affect us financially.

But there is always a solution to this. To live life happily, we need to change our lifestyle regarding our food intake as the first step. This post will help you through it to some extent.

Also, note that every individual's body is different, and so will their needs. So, don't expect this to work the same way as it worked for me.

    Oats as Superfood:-

Oats are rich in dietary fiber, and fiber helps in proper digestion and fat excretion from the body. When mixed with water, it increases in volume and gives you satiety. This is also high in protein. High protein will keep you full longer and decrease appetite, leading to lesser food consumption.

Oatmeal Diet Plan That I followed:

Why am I so confident about this diet plan? I followed this diet plan and lost over 4 - 5kg in 15 days. It isn't easy if you are starting any diet. But it all needs your strong willpower and dedication.

    Day 1 - Day 3

Morning: 1 glass lukewarm water + 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

Breakfast: Oats upma 1 bowl + 1 cup green tea

    Mid-morning: 1 Apple + 1 cup green tea

Lunch: Oats and lentil soup + 1 cup sauteed soya chunks + 1 cup green tea

    Afternoon: 1 Apple/ 2 tbsp roasted peanuts/ 1 cup sprouts salad + 1 cup green tea

Dinner: Oats & apple porridge + 1 cup green tea

    Day 4 - Day 6

Morning: 1 glass of cumin detox drink

How to make: 1 glass lukewarm water + œ tsp cumin seeds + 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

Soak cumin seeds overnight. In the morning, strain it and add lemon juice. You can also make it by simmering for some time.

Breakfast: Apple & oats porridge 1 bowl + 1 cup green tea

    Mid-morning: 1 Apple + 1 cup green tea

Lunch: Sauteed vegetables 1 bowl + 1 bowl boiled oats + 1 cup curd

Afternoon: 1 cup roasted peanuts/ chana + 1 cup green tea

Dinner: 1 Bowl mix vegetable soup / 1 bowl sprouts salad + 1 cup grilled paneer/ tofu

Post Dinner:- 1 cup green tea

    Day 7 - Day 10

Morning: 1 glass lukewarm water + 1 tbsp lemon juice

Breakfast: 1 bowl overnight oats + 1 bowl fresh fruits (except banana)

    Mid-morning: 1 Apple/ 1 Guava/ 1 Orange + 1 cup green tea

    Lunch: Savoury oats porridge/ Oats upma/ Daliya Khichdi 1 cup + 1 cup curd + 1 Apple

Post Lunch:- 1 cup green tea

Afternoon - 1 cup cucumber salad/ Sprouts salad + 1 cup green tea

Dinner: 1 glass oats buttermilk + 1 apple

    Oats Coriander Buttermilk

I followed this oatmeal diet plan for 2 weeks, then took a gap of 7 days with a balanced diet, and then again this for another 2 weeks. And I was surprised with the result.

Note: If you feel hungry between meals, eat fresh fruits, nuts, etc. Stop eating chocolates, ice creams, cakes, and other sweet foods. Avoid sugar completely.

There are a few things you need to follow along with diet:

    • You can use 1 tsp of oil per day. Use olive oil as it's a healthy fat and is suitable for weight loss.
    • Don't use sugar or artificial sugar alternatives
    • Use pink salt or rock salt in place of regular salt.
    • Drink a minimum of 2 lt of water in a day. (less in the evening/ night)
    • Brisk walk for 20 - 30 minutes every day.
    • If you feel hungry in between meals, munch on nuts and fruits (limited quantity)
    • Instead of regular water, try drinking lukewarm water for fast results.
