Iced matcha latte - (Starbucks copycat) is a delicious latte with matcha flavor instead of a regular latte. This is so much healthier than the original Iced latte (coffee). Let us see how to make a Starbucks-style iced matcha latte.

    What is Matcha?

Matcha is a type of green tea that is powdered instead of leaves. It has a higher concentration of antioxidants and caffeine than other teas. Matcha is also rich in vitamins and minerals. Since this is not the only infusion and leaves are powdered and used as a whole, more nutrients are absorbed effectively.

Matcha is one of the best kinds of green tea. If you are wondering what matcha tastes like, read it here.

If you love drinking green tea, try matcha green tea. Matcha is the purest form of green tea and has more health benefits.

    Iced Matcha Latte

There's something special about a cup of matcha latte. Perhaps it's the bright green color or the fact that it's made with finely ground powder instead of tea leaves. Or maybe it's the antioxidants, which are higher in matcha than in other types of green tea.

Whatever the reason, matcha lattes have become one of the most popular beverages.

You can make matcha latte hot or cold, as you prefer. I have shared the iced matcha latte recipe in this post.

If you have tried an iced matcha latte at Starbucks, then be assured that you can easily make one at home.

Whisk together matcha powder, hot water, and milk (dairy or non-dairy), and enjoy. Sweeten with honey/ maple syrup or sugar to taste. You can make it hot or cold, with a little variation in the method.

Also, this matcha latte tastes so good with almond milk. This is plant-based; if you are vegan, you can enjoy this latte.

If you're looking for a relaxing moment, a cup of matcha latte is the perfect way to enjoy this delicious superfood.

    Starbucks Iced Matcha Latte -

This copycat recipe does not include the same matcha blend that Starbucks uses for the iced latte.

Starbucks uses its customized sweetened matcha (a blend of matcha and sugar). While replicating this recipe, I will use regular matcha powder and sugar syrup.

Starbucks's Latte consists of their matcha blend and 2% milk. However, you can add any milk of your choice, preferably almond milk.

    Ingredients -

    Matcha Powder

Sweetener - Simple syrup/ Maple syrup (or honey for non-vegans)

Hot Water - to make the decoction

    Chilled Milk

    Lots of Ice Cubes

How To Make Iced Mocha Latte (Starbucks Copycat)?

Step 1 - Make Matcha Decoction

In a small bowl, combine matcha green tea powder with a little hot water and stir to make a creamy decoction. Dilute slightly by adding more warm water.

Step 2 - Cool The Decoction

Since we are making the iced match latte, we need them to cool down completely. Refrigerate for 20 - 30 minutes to be cold enough before adding to the milk.

Step 3- Add Milk & Matcha Decoction

Add matcha decoction, simple syrup, and ice cubes to a glass. Pour cold almond milk into them and stir until well mixed.

Iced Matcha Latte is ready to serve. Take a sip and enjoy the chilled latte.

Alternative Method - Using a Shaker

In a shaker, pour milk, simple syrup, and matcha powder and shake vigorously for 2 - 3 minutes till matcha dissolves or mixes completely with the milk. If you see small lumps in the liquid use a strainer to strain or serve it as it is. To serve, put ice in the serving mug or glasses. Then, pour the matcha latte from the shaker. Serve the delicious iced matcha latte.

Note - Adjust the syrup as per taste.
