Roasted peanuts in the air fryer is easy and quick, and they turn out perfectly crispy in 5 minutes. No oil is needed to make these roasted peanuts.
Roasted peanuts are a high-protein snack itself. You can use them in salads, peanut butter, and other dishes like poha, bagara baingan, etc. They are a great alternative to store-bought roasted peanuts, allowing you to control the seasoning and avoid unnecessary additives. I munch on plain roasted peanuts for healthy snacking. You can add seasoning of choice to make them yummy.
Air Fryer Peanuts
This is one of the simplest things you can make in the air fryer. The roasted peanuts don't require any other ingredients. However, if you want to make this seasoned, add seasoning as you prefer. Here are some suggestions to try.
- Classic salt and pepper
- Italian seasoning
- Ranch seasoning
- Honey and paprika
- Peri peri
- Cajun spice mix
You can add any of your favorite seasonings. If you are adding seasoning, you need to add a tsp of oil so that it will be coated well. Check if the seasoning has salt, then add salt only if required.
If you are making unsalted, you don't need to add oil. Also, roasting peanuts in the air fryer is quicker and more convenient than making them in a skillet.
Ingredients you'll need -
Peanuts
For seasoned peanuts -
olive oil, salt, seasoning of choice
Air Fry the Peanuts
Add the peanuts to the air fryer basket to air fry the peanuts. There is no need to preheat the air fryer. Set the air fryer at 370 F (190C) for 5 minutes. At 3 minutes, shake once to ensure even cooking. Remove and spread on a clean and dry plate or tray. Let it cool down to room temperature before serving.
To make seasoned peanuts, add the seasoning, salt (if needed), and olive oil to the peanuts. Then, transfer to the air fryer to roast. Air fry for the time and temperature, as mentioned above.
You can add the seasoning to the peanuts, and then air fry or simply air fry the raw peanuts and lightly apply the seasoned oil to the roasted peanuts. It works in both ways.
Storage
To store the roasted peanuts, let them cool down completely before storing them. Transfer to a clean and dry air-tight jar. This will stay good for two weeks when stored properly. Don't refrigerate.
