Which Chickpeas To Use For This Recipe - Soaked or Canned
Roasted chickpeas are made with cooked chickpeas. You can use canned or cooked chickpeas. If you are using raw chickpeas, soak for 8 hours and then cook until soft. Don't make them mushy, though. They should hold a firm shape. You can also cook the chickpeas in an instant pot.
How to make air fryer chickpeas?
Take a can of chickpeas or make your homemade boiled chickpeas. Drain the canned chickpeas and wash them in a sieve. Dry with a clean kitchen towel. Place them in a large mixing bowl.
Add the desired seasoning to the bowl with a drizzle of some olive oil. Toss to mix them thoroughly.
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 2 - 3 minutes. Transfer the chickpeas to the basket and spread them evenly. Air fry for 14 - 15 minutes at 400°F (200°C), shaking halfway through, until crispy.
Once the chickpeas reach the desired crispiness, remove them from the basket and transfer them to a clean plate. Allow them to cool completely to room temperature. Once at room temperature, store them in an airtight jar.
How to store?
Store the roasted chickpeas at room temperature in an airtight container or jar. It may stay in good condition for 8 - 10 days or even more when stored properly.
