Air Fryer Baked Potatoes are perfect crispy baked potatoes. This is one of the best potato recipes I have ever made. I normally make them in the oven but with an air fryer, this is so quick. And perfectly crispy skin with light, fluffy potato inside makes it perfectly satisfying baked potatoes.

Baked potatoes are too versatile and I love them in any menu, as appetizers, as sides with soups, mains. This is just good for me in any way. But with my air fryer version, this saves a lot of time. If you are a fan of baked potatoes, you must try them in air fryers.

Air fryer cooks faster in fact and saves a lot of time. It performs just like an oven. The overhead fan rotates at high speed circulating the hot air quickly. Thus It cooks food quickly.

I love my air fryer potato wedges, French fries, hash browns, smashed potatoes. Even I make vegetables like buffalo cauliflower, roasted cauliflower, broccoli, eggplants, mushrooms, green beans, carrots in my air fryer and I love it more every day.

    Air Fryer Baked Potatoes

This is a simple and delicious potato recipe that doesn't require any planning or preparation. Just season the potatoes and keep in the air fryer. Set time and flip in the mid ways. Your baked potatoes are ready.

    Ingredients

Potatoes - Any potatoes can be used for this. But russet potatoes have thicker skin and adds more crispiness to the baked potatoes. I have taken white potatoes that are available at our place now.

Seasoning - Oil + salt + garlic powder + cayenne pepper + chilli powder

If you are not vegan, go ahead with butter (melted) for the best taste. Avocado oil is good too.

To keep the seasoning simple, just brush it with butter or oil. Sprinkle some salt or rub it on whole potato.

    Instructions

    Preheat the air fryer at 400 F (200 C) for 5 minutes.

Wash and clean the potatoes. You can use a brush to clean the skin since we are not taking them off.

In a small bowl add the spices and oil. Mix it well.

Then brush the seasoned oil over the potatoes and place them in the air fryer basket.

Start the air fryer at 400 F for 35 minutes. Then flip it at around 20 minutes and brush some more seasoned oil. However, seasoning is optional here. But I like perfectly seasoned skin. Check it after 10 minutes (at 30 minutes).

Check the doneness by piercing a knife. If the knife runs through smoothly, then it's cooked perfectly. Remove from the air fryer and add your favorite toppings.

For large size potatoes, it can take up to 40 minutes. For medium potatoes, anywhere between 30 to 35 minutes is perfect. Every air fryer cooks differently. Also, the time may vary depending on the type of potato you are taking for your baked potatoes.

Serve the air fryer baked potatoes - Remove the baked potatoes from the air fryer. Using a knife, cut it open and fluff it with help of a fork. Add some butter (or vegan butter), a little coarse salt, and herbs of choice.

Tips for best baked potatoes in air fryer

You can place a foil in the air fryer but don't cover it all. However, it's not at all required. You can just place the seasoned potatoes inside the basket.

Russet potatoes are the best ones for this baked potato dish. However you can also take white potatoes.

If you have larger potatoes, poke them with a fork. But this is optional required since the air flows uniformly cooking all sides equally.
