Air fryer kale chips are a tasty and healthy snack. One of the advantages of using an air fryer for making kale chips is that it significantly reduces the need for oil to crisp them up, making them a healthier option compared to deep-fried snacks. Plus it takes less time than baking in the oven. In the air fryer the hot air that circulates through it, cooks them to perfect crispy chips in just a few minutes.
To make air fryer kale chips, you just need some fresh kale leaves, a bit of oil, and your favorite seasoning if any. Otherwise, keep it simple with salt and garlic powder. Any type of kale will go well for this dish. However, I have taken the curly ones here.

Add oil and seasoning (if any) and toss them in a tiny bit of oil to make them crispy. Rub them nicely if adding the garlic powder or any other seasonings. If adding only salt, you can sprinkle them after they are done. But be careful in adding salt since they shrink almost 5 times their size.
Preheat the air fryer to 375 F (190 C) for 3 minutes. Then, place them in the air fryer basket and cook for 4 - 5 minutes or until they turn crunchy. Shake halfway through or after 3 minutes and keep an eye on them after that. overcooking may result in burnt chips.
That's it! You get yummy and crispy kale chips. Serve them with any of your favorite dips.
Expert Tips -
After dehydration, the leaves turn lighter and may fly to the top. In such cases, place an air fryer rack over them to stop the flying of leaves.
