    Broccoli Fried Rice

    If you are looking for a quick dinner in less than 30 minutes, here is my broccoli fried rice. It takes less than 10 minutes if you have some leftover rice.

    Broccoli Fried Rice is a quick, wholesome, and flavorful dish made with tender broccoli, fluffy rice, and simple seasonings tossed together in a hot pan. This easy meal combines fresh vegetables with savory flavors for a light yet satisfying option.

    Perfect for busy weeknights, it can be enjoyed on its own or served alongside your favorite Asian-inspired dishes. You can add veggies like carrots, green peas, cauliflower, and bell peppers to the rice. Or make it simply with broccoli.

    Ingredients Needed for Broccoli Fried Rice

    • Rice - Cooked 4 cups (leftover or cooled rice at room temperature)
    • Onion - 1 finely sliced
    • Garlic - 2 cloves chopped roughly
    • Ginger - 1 inch grated or finely chopped
    • Soy sauce - 1 tbsp
    • Chili flakes - 1 tsp (optional)
    • Vinegar - 1 tsp
    • Salt & black pepper - to taste (soy sauce also contains salt in it)

    Instructions

    Heat oil in a wok or pan. Once the oil is hot, add the chopped ginger and garlic, then the onions. Sautรฉ for a minute on medium heat.

    Then add the diced broccoli florets and sautรฉ for another 2 minutes, until tender. If required, add (only) 2 tbsp of water to create a steaming effect and speed up cooking. The water will evaporate while cooking the broccoli.

    Then add rice on top of it. Add soy sauce, vinegar, chili flakes, salt, and pepper to taste. Toss everything well in high heat. Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro leaves.

    Instant pot method

    Press the "saute" button on the Instant Pot. Add the oil and let it heat up. Add onions, ginger, and garlic. Sautรฉ for a minute, then add broccoli florets (and other veggies, if any). Stir in occasionally. Cook for 4-5 minutes, until the broccoli and other veggies are tender. Then add rice on top of it. Add soy sauce, vinegar, chili flakes, salt, and pepper. Stir and cook for another 2 - 3 minutes.

    How to store leftovers and reheat?

    You can refrigerate the leftovers in an airtight container for 4 - 5 days. For reheating, transfer the rice to a pan and sautรฉ for 1-2 minutes over medium-high heat. If reheating in an Instant Pot, add 1 tbsp of water before adding the rice. Sautรฉ for 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    Ingredients
      

    • 4 - 5 cups cooked rice jasmin rice or any long grain rice
    • 1 onion chopped
    • 4 - 5 cloves garlic chopped
    • 1 inch ginger grated or chopped finely
    • 2 tbsp soy sauce
    • 1 tsp vinegar
    • 1 tsp red pepper flakes chili flakes (optional)
    • ยฝ tsp salt
    • ยฝ tsp black pepper
    • 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds optional for garnish
    • 2 tsp cilantro leaves or green onions for garnish

    Instructions
