Then drain out the water and keep chickpeas aside for some times.
Put chickpeas and all other ingredients mentioned in ingredient list above (except oil) in a food processor.
Blend it to coarse paste in a food processor.
Cover the thick paste and keep aside in refrigerator for 1 hour to set dry.
Take out the mixture from refrigerator.
Divide the mixture into equal portions (lemon sized balls)
Grease palms and make the portions into small balls.
Make sure there is no crack on the surface.
Heat oil in a pan.
Drop one by one into oil.
Make it in batches of 6 - 7 at a time.
Fry till it's golden brown in color and cooked on all sides.
Remove from oil and place on kitchen towel.
Afterwards, serve these falafel with tahini or green cilantro dip.
Baked Falafel
Preheat the oven at 380 F.
Line the baking tray with parchment paper.
Now place the falafel on the tray.
Bake at 380 F for 30 minutes.
Flip them carefully in the midways for even cooking.
Air Fryer Falafel
Place the falafel in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
Don't overlap them with each other.
Now spray some oil on the falafel.
Start the air fryer at 375 F for 15 minutes.
Remove and flip the falafel carefully with help of a tong or spoon at around 10 minutes.
Keep a check on the falafel and decide the crispiness and timing.
Remove once done and serve with tahini and zhoug.

If your mixture doesn't bind properly then add little chickpea flour to it.Don't boil the chickpeas before. Only soaked chickpeas.Don't use canned beans for falafel ever.To give it a veggies twist, add vegetables to the mixture and blend together. The rest process would be the same.Each air fryer cooks differently depending on its size. Keep a check on the fritters. If you need it more crispy, increase the timer by 2 - 3 minutes more up to 15 minutes.The time above doesn't have soaking time which is up to 8 - 10 hrs.
