Strawberry compote (Strawberry sauce)
Make this easy and quick strawberry compote or strawberry sauce for toppings on your pancakes, wraps, cheesecakes, and many more.

juice of 1/2 lemon
Wash and clean the fresh strawberries.
Add diced strawberries along with sugar, lemon zest, lemon juice in a saucepan.
Keep the pan on slow flame and simmer.
Keep stirring in between.
As soon as the sugar starts melting, the fruit will simmer in the sugar syrup.
Simmer for 10 - 15 minutes on medium - low flame
Remove the foams formed while simmering.
Gradually it will start to thicken.
Remove from heat and let it cool for some time.
Store in a sterilized jar and refrigerate/ freeze.
