    Vegan Cauliflower Steaks

Cauliflower steaks are a great way to get your daily dose of veggies, and they're also a low-carb option for those watching their carbohydrate intake.

Serve these cauliflower steaks with a side of your favorite sauce or dip, or enjoy them on their own as a healthy and satisfying meal. I love it with some hot sauce like buffalo sauce.

When preparing cauliflower steaks, be sure to cut them evenly so they cook evenly. You can either bake, broil, or grill them depending on your preference.

If you're using a marinade or sauce, be sure to apply it before cooking. You may keep the cauliflower to marinate for 15 - 20 minutes before cooking them.

    Ingredients you will need -

Whole cauliflower head - cut into evenly thick slices from the head of cauliflower till the end

Olive oil - olive oil is so good in adding a nice flavor along with some browning effect.

Seasonings - garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, coriander powder, salt & pepper. Add any herbs or seasonings of your choice.

    For Garnish - Cilantro leaves

    Dipping Sauce Options-

Chili aioli - vegan mayo, garlic powder, sriracha, lemon juice, black pepper

Chimichurri sauce - fresh parsley+ cilantro, red onion, garlic, red wine vinegar, lemon juice, salt, olive oil, jalapeno

    Avocado Cilantro Crema

Vegan Buffalo Sauce - this one is my favorite dipping sauce

Vegan Yum Yum Sauce - Vegan mayo, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, sugar, paprika

Spicy Cilantro Dip - Garlic + green chili (serrano pepper or cayenne pepper) + fresh cilantro leaves + onion (optional) + salt + lemon juice

How to make cauliflower steaks (in the air fryer and an oven)?

This is an easy dish and doesn't require much time and effort. You need to marinate the cauliflower slices for some time allowing the seasonings to infuse the flavor into the cauliflower. After that place them in the air fryer or in the oven and cook for respective times.

    How to cut cauliflower steaks?

Wash and clean the cauliflower head. Snap off the cauliflower leaves and cut the stem but keep the core. With help of a sharp knife, cut the cauliflower through the center into halves. Then cut each half into 3 - 4 inch slices. Keep the thickness even. The outer florets may fall off. You can roast them along with steaks.

    Prepare the marinade mix

In a small bowl add the spices and olive oil. Stir well to mix.

    Marinate the cauliflower steaks

Now drizzle the seasoned oil over the cauliflower and rub well to coat the slices nicely with oil and seasonings. Let it sit for 10 - 20 minutes (optional) to absorb the flavors. However, if short on time, you can start cooking.

Roasted Cauliflower Steaks In The Oven

To roast the cauliflower steaks in the oven, preheat the oven to 425 F. Place the marinated steaks on the baking tray. Spray some oil. Place the tray in the oven and bake for 15 minutes. Flip the steaks and spray some more oil. Bake for another 10 - 15 minutes till it looks golden and cooked.

Cauliflower Steaks In The Air Fryer

Preheat the air fryer to 400 F. Place the seasoned steaks in the basket. Start the air fryer at 360 F (180 C) for 15 minutes, flipping them halfway. Air fryer cauliflower steaks may turn a little more charred. Check the doneness you need and remove it from the air fryer.

Once done, drizzle the dipping sauce and serve.

    Storage & Reheat

This will stay good for 5 days in the refrigerator, stored in an air-tight container. To reheat, place the leftover steak in the oven or air fryer and cook for 3 minutes in the air fryer at 180 F and in the oven at 400 F for 5 minutes.
