    Healthy Banana Recipes (Vegetarian & Vegan)

    Banana is a great ingredient to add to breakfast items or to snacks or desserts. Here is a list of 40 healthy banana recipes, you can add to your menu. These are vegetarian (contains egg, dairy) and vegan banana recipes.

    Healthy Banana Recipes

    Banana is a very popular fruit that is not only inexpensive but also has a lot of health benefits as well. It exists in many types and so with many colors and sizes. This is native to Southeast Asia and harvested in many countries abundantly.

    This is a high source of fiber, potassium, fiber, vitamin B6, vitamin C, many antioxidants, and essential micronutrients. Banana is a rich source of carbs. And this carb composition changes along with ripening. In raw form, the carb is mainly as starch. But the ripe banana it's more sugar. Other than banana bread, this is used in many other desserts and smoothies.

    And probably that's the reason banana is great as a sweetener with out adding any white sugar. This acts as a natural sweetener.

    Health Benefits of Banana

    Banana has numerous health benefits. However, there are many, I have listed a few of them here.

    1. High potassium keeps heart healthy and lowers the risk of heart diseases.
    2. Resistant starch & pectins as as prebiotic nutrients and keeps the gut healthy.
    3. Bananas are filling and also helps in weight loss.
    4. Antioxidants including flavenoids and amines help in reducing risk of many degenerative diseases.
    5. Unripe bananas are helpful in improving insulin sensitivity.
    6. High potassium content helps in keeping kidney healthy.

    This is an easy add to food. It's great to add to the smoothies to make it filling yet energizing. Since this is relatively low in calorie this can be added to any desserts like pudding, cakes, breads as a sweetener. Ripe banana is sweeter and a great substitute for refined sugar.
